It chronicles the struggles of Cleopatra, the young queen of Egypt, to resist the imperial ambitions of Rome. Richard Burton, Rex Harrison, Roddy McDowall, and Martin Landau are featured in supporting roles. The film stars Elizabeth Taylor in the eponymous role.
